So, Slayer is going to retire now...
#1
I'm sure we've all seen the headlines about Slayer calling it a day. I get it. Tom is becoming more and more of a non-road guy, Jeff is gone, it's been over 35 years playing a very demanding style of music, and they're all over 50.

The thing that gets me is all the so-called "fans" who have taken this announcement and turned into yet another reason to bag on one of the most important bands in metal history.

"They should have retired in 1986"

"Slayer died with Jeff"

"It's a cash-grab"

"Kerry will turn it into Kerry King's Slayer"

To stuff like that, I say "Fuck you, fuck you, and fuck you!" Slayer is legend. It doesn't matter if you don't like the later albums. It doesn't matter what other bands do. Slayer were seminal in helping forge an entire genre of metal. The first 3 albums cannot be disputed.

Show a little respect. I don't listen to later Slayer much either. But to ignore the status of a band like Slayer in favor of just jerkign off bashing them when they decide to retire is just classless.
